Today we are proud to feature Bailey Hughes in our Student-Athlete Spotlight. Bailey is a Senior at Riverside High School in the Martin County School District in North Carolina. As a member of the Basketball, Volleyball and Softball teams, Bailey understands the importance of using her platform to encourage young readers.
Bailey has volunteered with the 2nd & 7 program for 2 years. She enjoys interacting with elementary students, sharing the importance of reading and teaching the students about the sports she participates in. Asim McGill, the Director of Student Involvement with the Martin County School District, shares that Bailey eagerly volunteers to participate each time the program visits neighboring elementary schools.
Bailey is a distinguished member of her high school community, recently winning the Riverside High School Heisman Award, voted as the most valuable player of her volleyball team and ranking in the top 5% of her class. After high school, Bailey plans to study Secondary Education in college. We are so proud to have Bailey in our huddle as wish her well in future endeavors!
