We will try our best to accommodate requests to put at least one friend on your child's team if requested. Multiple friend requests cannot be guaranteed.
Your child MUST bring a water bottle with his/her name on it. (Congregate water stations will NOT be available as in the past.)
Your camper should wear shorts and a short sleeve shirt with his/her name on it. Some kids wear cleats but they are not necessary. THERE ARE NO PADS AT THIS CAMP!
Each day, we check the weather and if there is a threat of lighting then we take shelter in the school and review some of the basic fundamentals with each of the coaches and their teams. If there is rain with no lightning, then we continue with our drills.
If this is the case, it would be helpful for you to pack a snack for your child.
THERE WILL BE NO OUTSIDE AUTOGRAPHS! The last day of camp, we will allow each camper to have one of the camp items (either the shirt or football that is provided) signed by the coaches. At that time, campers can try to take a photo but we ask that each camper respect the others, as everyone wants to get autographs on the final day.
We always leave this up to the parents. This is a non-contact camp and the children are divided into age-specific teams. As long as your child is comfortable being away from mom or dad for a few hours, they'll be fine!
Please note that due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to allow spectators at camp.
To promote reading by providing free books and positive role models to kids in need while encouraging young athletes of the community to pay it forward.
The 2nd & 7 Foundation was founded in 1999 by three former OSU football players – Luke Fickell, Ryan Miller and Mike Vrabel - who wanted to continue to give back to their community. Since 1999, The 2nd & 7 Foundation has given away over 400,000 books to kids in need all across the country.
The 'Tackling Illiteracy' reading program began in central Ohio and is now being implemented in communities all over the nation. As a part of this program, college or high school student-athletes visit 2nd graders in local elementary schools to read to them, talk about the importance of their education and give every child a free book to take home. The focus is on schools with high populations of students on free or reduced lunch plans or communities that need it the most. A donation of just $25 allows us to ship 120 books to a school anywhere in the country.
