The Goddard School of Powell hosted a book drive for the 2nd & 7 Columbus Kids Book Bank in celebration of Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’s birthday. With help from teachers, students, and families, they collected over 250 books to donate. Last Wednesday, the kindergarten class took a field trip to the book bank to drop off the books, spend time with us, and enjoy the space.
While they were here, they got to read the Hog Mollies and the Pickle Pie Party, our very first book in the Hog Mollies series. They also had the opportunity to shop for free books to take home with them, making their visit feel personal and fun. The kindergarteners learned about the value in their book drive; by collecting books, delivering their donations, and taking some of their own home. This gave the students a firsthand look at where donated books go, and how their service helps other kids in their own community!
