February 7th - 2/7 Day!

2/7 Day (held on February 7th) is a day set aside to celebrate and shine a light on our mission to promote childhood literacy through positive role models and providing accessible reading material to children coming from all areas of our community. It is a fun day that highlights the impact of our work, as well as supports our mission by bringing awareness to childhood illiteracy.

This year's 2/7 Day, held last Saturday, was an exciting day of activity and community involvement. Individuals in our community celebrated in all sorts of ways: shared posts with us on social media and helped spread the message that reading is vital to a successful future. 2/7 Day was more than bringing awareness, it was a celebration of learning in action and a celebration of literacy.

The celebration also included the Big Game Pledge, where supporters made pledges during the BIG GAME that will help us put more books into the hands of young students and expand the reach of our work. With 23 programs across 11 states working to promote reading and positive role models during the week leading up to February 7th, 2/7 Day highlighted the foundation’s growing impact nationwide.
