We are so proud of the football players at Eastwood High School in Pemberville, Ohio, as they begin their 3rd year of partnership with The 2nd & 7 Foundation. This program has successfully navigated through the challenges that the COVID school closures have presented over the last couple of years. When in-person visits were not possible, the players pivoted and recorded Hog Mollies read-aloud videos, giving young readers and classes the opportunity to view and follow along as they were able. Now that the players are again able to visit classes in person, the team looks forward to sharing 4 Hog Mollies book titles with the 2nd grade students in the district this year. Under the direction of Coach Craig Rutherford, the athletes will share the importance of reading while discussing the messages in each story, such as the importance of sharing your feelings, practice, patience and persistence and the importance of trying your best.
Thanks to these athlete volunteers who are making a big difference! #readersandleaders #2and7nc https://t.co/XZC9YTxZJC
