             As an educator for over 26 years, Lata Mohan has been a positive influence for many students in the Columbus City Schools. Currently, Lata teaches 2nd grade at Gables Elementary in Columbus. Our partnership with Lata began over 15 years ago when she first signed up for a visit from The 2nd & 7 Foundation through our central Ohio reading program.

STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK, ASHLEE SCOTT

Ashlee Scott is our Student-Athlete of the Week! As an 11th grader at Defiance High School in Ohio, she is a member of the softball, soccer and track teams. Ashlee volunteers at various special events put on by the New Heights Educational Group. In this capacity, she shares the importance of reading and education with young readers in the Defiance area. Ashlee was nominated for her efforts in giving back to her community through volunteering, raising donations and raising awareness for various causes. She has a passion for children and giving to those less fortunate. Ashlee aspires to become an elementary school teacher.
