What is impact? Is it enough to make a difference in the life of just one person? We believe it is. We work every day to positively impact the people in our huddle. Not just the 2nd graders. Not just the student-athletes. Our staff, our volunteers, board members, our donors, friends, family . . . and our interns. Thanks for your time with us, Emma. You will do amazing things! -- Your friends at The 2nd & 7 Foundation
Congratulations to John Evin, our Student-Athlete of the Week! John is a junior at Ridgewood High School in West Lafayette, Ohio, and is a member of the football and track teams. He has been serving as a volunteer with The 2nd & 7 Foundation for two years. John shares what he enjoys most about his role, "seeing the appreciation on the kids' faces as they get the book that we are reading to them makes my day. They get huge smiles on their faces when they realize that the 'big kids' can relate to them. I am just thankful to The 2nd & 7 Foundation for giving me this opportunity to pay it forward."
Weston Diblasi is our Student-Athlete of the Week! This University of Missouri freshman is a member of the Wrestling team and is majoring in Secondary Education. He is an active volunteer with our literacy outreach efforts in the Columbia, Missouri area. Weston's favorite aspect of serving as a volunteer is "just getting to truly interact with the kids. Getting to see their smiles and hear their laughs really brightens my day. I just hope I do the same for them."
Nini Wagner is our Student-Athlete of the Week! Nini is a junior at Tiffin University and plays on the Women's Lacrosse team. We love Nini's enthusiasm for visiting young readers during her two years of involvement with The 2nd & 7 Foundation's outreach. Her favorite moments involve, "being able to interact with the kids and seeing how excited they are when they get to keep the books. It is great to hear them talk about how they're going to go home and read to their families!"
