The purpose of the 2nd & 7 Foundation is to help promote literacy throughout Central Ohio. The modern definition of literacy is the ability to read, write, use computers, and evaluate information found on the internet. With that in mind, we created the "Tackle Illiteracy" program. Each week during the school year, we travel with various student-athletes from The Ohio State University to different elementary schools in Columbus and read to the entire 2nd grade class. After we discuss the importance of reading, we give each child a book that they can take home and read for fun.
